What We Believe

TENETS OF FAITH AND DOCTRINE

The Church accepts the Scriptures as the revealed Will of God, the all sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopts these Statements of Fundamental Truths and Doctrine.

The Bible (Scripture) is given by inspiration of God as a revelation from God to man. (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12).

The One True Godhead who is the Creator of All Things (Gen. 1:1-27; John 1:3).

The Triune Godhead is comprised of three separate and distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are eternally self-existent, self-revealed, and function as one entity. (1 John 5:7; Luke 1:26-37; Isaiah 7:14; Matt. 1:18; Isaiah 44:6; 1 Tim. 2:5; Gen. 1:26, 3:22; Hebrews 1:2; John 1;1, 14, 5:18; Acts 5:3-4).

Mankind was created by God, but by voluntary transgression, fell and the only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21).

The only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  On the cross, Jesus Christ bore sin and sickness providing both salvation and divine healing of all mankind.  (Psalm 103:3; Rom. 3:24; Eph. 2:8; Rom. 10:8-10).

Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works; however, our works will determine the rewards in eternity (Rom. 10:9-10; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7; Rom. 14:20-21; II Cor. 5:10).

The outward evidence of salvation to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness.  “And this is the commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us”  (1 John 3:23).

Baptism in Water by believers.  This act declares to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in the newness of life (Matt. 28:19; Acts 10:47,48; Rom. 6:4).

The Lord’s Supper consisting of the elements, bread and fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (II Peter 1:4); a memorial of His suffering and death (I Cor. 11:26), and a prophesy of His coming (I Cor. 11:26); and is enjoined on all believers “until He comes.”

The baptism in the Holy Ghost is for all believers.  This promise of the Fathe should be expected and sought according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ.  This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; I Cor. 12:1-31; Acts 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9).

The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.  (Eph. 1:22; 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23).

Jesus is coming again to gather all His Saints to Heaven (I Cor, 15:51-52; I Thess. 4:16-17; II Thess. 2:1).

Those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation from the Godhead. (Rev. 19:20; 20:10-15).

The return of our Lord Jesus Christ with His Saints from Heaven to rule and reign for one thousand years on earth as the Scriptures promised. After this, there shall be a new heaven and a new earth. (Rom. 11:25-27; II Thess. 1:7; Rev. 19:11-16; 20:1-7).  Rev. 21).
